Good quality traces back to the root. We take each Agarwood plant seriously and meticulously. We have 30 acres of nursery farm in Pahang.

In the process of propagating Qi-Nan, the seedling of Agarwood is required as the foundation of grafting. Currently, our company has the most Aquilaria Sinensis seedlings and Qi-Nan seedlings in Malaysia.

We usually purchase or collect seeds from grown trees and grow them in soil. After two weeks, the sprouts will begin germinating.

There are two methods that work hand-in-hand for Qi-Nan Agarwood Plantation.

Grafting

The usage of grafting is the only approach to produce Qi Nan due to its uniqueness. It usually takes 10 months to 12 months for a sprout to be a seedling ready to be engaged in grafting. After the grafting procedure, Qi-Nan seedlings need around 4 months to be prepared for planting on land. We will filter the seedlings and only plant the successful seedlings, and those that failed will be removed and reused for the following grafting process.

Smart Farming Technology

Before the introduction of smart farming technology, the success rate of Qi Nan seedlings only achieved 10%. We have been in the Agarwood plantation for 12 solid years. With all existing data we have captured, we can closely monitor each Agarwood plant's growth and double the success rate to 20%-30%.

WE Grow

After filtering, the successful Qi-Nan seedlings can be planted at our base. After two years of growth, the Qi-Nan trees are ready to proceed to the next stage, induction. The induction method for Qi-Nan trees is artificial holing, and Qi-Nan trees will produce resin at the wounded areas during recovery. Two years later from induction, the Agarwood is ready to be harvested. The whole Qi-Nan tree will be harvested with the root as well.

Our company has more than 12 years of experience in cultivating Agarwood and successfully sold out more than 400,000 plants. Count on our expertise in cultivating skills. We focus on cultivating two types of Agarwood plantation, including Qi Nan and Aquilaria Sinensis(白木香).

What is the difference between Ordinary Agarwood and Aquilaria Sinensis?

Ordinary Agarwood Qi Nan
Appearance The trunk is light brown with white spots The trunk is dark brown
Induction Method Using biological inducer such as yeast, fungi, and other microbial flora found naturally, or chemical inducer Using traditional method, holing, and the tree itself will start producing, storing, and distributing agarwood constituents to the wounded area
Market Value Lower than Aquilaria Sinensis(白木香) The market value of Qi-Nan is commonly considered higher than ordinary agarwood. Qi-Nan contains higher quality of resin and better scents compared to ordinary agarwood.
Preserve Value After induction of agarwood, ordinary agarwood needs to be harvested in 2-3 years. After the period, the resin of agarwood will be washed away by the rain and the value will depreciate. The value of Qi-Nan appreciates along with the time after induction as its resin would keep increasing.
Richness of Resin Rich resin Qi-Nan contains richer resin compared to ordinary agarwood. The rich resin makes Qi-Nan darker than ordinary agarwood. Once the resin is plenty enough, it would make Qi-Nan sink in the water. In the agarwood market, an agarwood that sinks causes its value to appreciate around 10 times or even higher.
Competition Competitive The cultivation of Qi-Nan was only introduced around 4 years ago. There are lesser competitors in the plantation of Qi-Nan compared to ordinary agarwood. Currently, only a few Qi-Nan projects are running in China Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan island.

WE Harvest

After harvesting, the workers will clean out the wood that does not contain resin, only the agarwood will be collected. The agarwood can be broken down into agarwood chips or processed as agarwood oil.

WE Grade

We have our in-house specialized agarwood grading system. We grade Agarwood based on several characteristics, including black colour intensity, smell, texture and weight through visual inspection.

Grade Made into Economic Value
A Agarwood chips High
B Aromatic oil Medium
C Aromatic oil Low

The founder is keen to establish an organization to come out with a systematic grading system in the future. We will come out with certificates for our products.

WE EXTRACT

There are 2 types of distillation processes of Agarwood Oil.

Steam Distillation Process CO2 Extraction Process
Process Steam distillation is considered the best method for the extraction and isolation of essential oils.

  1. The plant material is placed in a boiler unit and steam is passed through it. The heat opens the pores of the plant that contains the aromatic molecules or oils.
  2. Once open, the plant releases these aromatic molecules and in this state, the fragrant molecules are able to rise along with the steam.
  3.  The vapors carrying these molecules travel within a closed system towards the cooling device. Cold water is used to cool the vapor.
  4.  As the vapor cools, it condenses and is transformed into a liquid state. Afterwards, the liquid is collected in a container and as with any type of oil/water mixture, it separates. The oils float towards the top while the water settles below.

Supercritical CO2 is used as a solvent to extract Agarwood oil from the plant.

This technology is environment friendly with minimum carbon footprint and CO2 is recycled as much as 95% in the system

Do note that our factory currents have the facility and equipment for fire drill treatment. The extraction process is designed by our chief research officer with technical expertise and rich knowledge of biochemistry. We take the quality assurance of the production as top priority to develop the products at the best quality.
